Co-Founder & General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, Haridwar
Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust) was founded in Delhi on 4 February, 2005 for the purpose of establishing Yoga on the world map, for the study and ancient research of the Vedic tradition of Yoga, and for conducting the whole gamut of activities and various projects related to Yoga. The Trust manages almost all the Yoga activities, such as holding Yogic science camps and management of Patanjali Yog Samitis.
The two units of Patanjali Yogpeeth Phase 1 and Phase 2 have good facilities for treating 500 OPD patients/day with accommodation facilities and Yoga research center equipped with latest machines and equipments. A large air-conditioned auditorium to practice yoga, pranayama and meditation. There is also a net surfing center and a huge library containing literature on Yoga, Ayurveda and Botany. The campus also has a multi-stored canteen and 3.13 lakh sq. ft. area for more than 6000 yoga participants having facilities for lodging, boarding, training, 950 guest rooms, Yajnashala, 350 apartments and with lots of open space and garden for walking. There is Herbal Park nearby with a plantation of well-known medicinal plants.
Operating under the blessings of Revered Swami Ramdev ji Maharaj and the direction and guidance of Revered Acharya Balkrishna ji, Yog Gram is an excellent and unique centre for providing holistic treatment through an integrated use of Yoga, Naturopathy and harmless herbs and medicinal plants.
This center has got its shape in only 40 days despite many hindrances including major hindrances of logistics, as it is about 20 K.M. far from the highway and there was no road available to reach there at that time. Yog Gram was inaugurated on June 8th 2008 by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Sh. B.C. Khanduri.
The vision to establish a fully equipped center in the lap of nature, amid mountains & rivers, where Sadhakas can have a divine experience of peaceful & healthy life, materialized by indefatigable efforts of Acharya Balkrishna.
